Lee Grant, the 39 year old Manchester United goalkeeper, has announced he is hanging up his gloves after 511 appearances to move onto the next stage of his career.
Having been with Man Utd for the last four years he has contributed hugely in training and the dressing room whilst using the opportunities given to him to learn from others working within one of the biggest football clubs in the world.
“Fulfilling a boyhood dream of playing for Manchester United was something I thought was out of reach, so to have achieved that fills me with great pride and emotion!”
His career which span over 23 years has seen him play at Stoke City, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday, Burnley, Oldham Athletic and finishing his career at Manchester United.
Grant gave thanks to those who have supported him during his career but especially his family and in particular his wife Helen.
In an interview Lee said “As I move into the next stage of my career, I’m excited and hungry about the beginning of a new journey and the hard work that lies ahead!”.
