WIGGINS INVOLVED IN WEDNESDAYS WIN

24 September 2015

Rhoys Wiggins, who joined Sheffield Wednesday at the beginning of August from Charlton FC, last night played an important role in their win over Newcastle United.

Wiggins signed a three year contract with the Owls and made his debut in Sheffield Wednesdays 4 – 1 victory over Mansfield Town in the league Cup.

The Wednesday manager has been making many changes to the team over recent weeks and last night played a different team to their previous three games which included starting Rhoys who had a solid performance for the full 90 minutes. Carlos Carvalhal was extremely happy with the team he played and their performance.

The win over Newcastle takes them to the forth of the League Cup round and will face Arsenal at Hillsborough.

In the Championship Sheffield Wednesday are currently positioned 14th having achieved 9 points from 8 games. They face Brentford away on Saturday and hopefully can continue the momentum after beating struggling Newcastle last night and Fulham last Saturday.
