The fith round FA Cup suprise result was undoubtedly Bradford knocking out Sunderland after an OG from John O’Shea and a second half goal sealing the win from John Stead.
Other results over the weekend were much as to be expected and probably the closest tie was between Aston Villa and Leicester FC who are both struggling in the bottom three of the premiership.
This was Tim Sherwood’s first game in charge at Villa, and it looks like his team talk at half time did the job, beating Leicester 2 – 1.
Aston Villa caretaker manager Scott Marshall: “The game was great today, the boys produced a good performance. The most important thing was the energy and the togetherness was good. One or two will learn from conceding late on as well, but the determination was always there to see the game out.”
We wish Tim Sherwood all the best in his new role at Villa.
