Danish left footed centre back, Joel Felix, has put pen to paper signing a three year deal with German club DSC Arminia.
Joel left Danish club Silkeborg IF on a high after his contributions helped them lift the Danish Cup. Joel joined Silkeborg in 2020 and throughout his time at the club he showed commitment and became a firm favourite of the fans.
After considering a substantial number of offers presented, Joel felt that Arminia Bielefeld was the right club for him at this time, and that he and the club had aligned ambition for the coming season.
Joel was impressed with passionate welcome he received from the club and is very much looking forward to playing football in front of their strong and loyal fan base.
Sports director Michael Mutzel and head coach Mitch Kniat provided the following statement from the club, “Joel Felix fits exactly the profile of a central defender that we have defined for our team. With his personality, his experience at national and international level and his sporting quality, he will be an important part of our squad. In addition to his understanding of the game and his physicality, being left-footed opens up new opportunities for us, especially when it comes to building up the game. Over the past few months we have worked together very intensively and confidentially to ensure that this transfer could be realized. We are all very pleased to be able to inspire a top central defender from the first Danish league to join Arminia Bielefeld and convince him of our path”.
Commenting on his move Joel said “Arminia Bielefeld has worked very hard for me over the past few months. This leap of faith, the sporting concept and the prospect of being able to play for a traditional German club convinced me 100 percent. The conversations with those responsible, my impressions on site, a great stadium, the new training center and also the great fans inspired me very early on. Becoming part of this club feels very good after I signed”.
We are looking forward to seeing the season unfold and are excited to see what the future holds for both Joel and DSC Arminia.
