Attamah Assists Promotion to Turkish Super Lig

31 July 2020

Joseph Attamah’s spot-kick has helped Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk S.K. secure promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.

Karagumruk were sat in 12th position in the league table when the Ghanian international midfielder joined them on loan from Istanbul Basaksehir. The team have since made it into a play-off position in the table with three games left to play of the season.

Since returning after the COVID-19 disruption Karagumruk have been unbeaten and their confidence shone through during an intense penalty shoot out to decide who would gain promotion to the Super Lig.

Attamah has played in 14 league matches and scored twice, most importantly in the play off final when he scored a clinical goal giving his team a 3-2 lead in the penalty shoot out against his former side Adana Demirspor.

Winning 6-5 on penalties Attamah and his team mates have secured promotion to top flight football in Turkey for the first time since 1984. We wish him and his team mates at Karagumruk a successful season ahead in the Super Lig.
