Wycombe Wanderers break their losing streak in style, showing fantastic energy, team spirit and character until the final kick of the game. A dramatic comeback from two goals down against Doncaster Rovers saw the Chairboys take all 3 points and bags of confidence going into their next game against Bristol Rovers.
Wycombe conceded two goals in the second half but the Chairboys kept their heads high and fought back with a goal from Paris Cowan-Hall in the 79th minute. They continued to push and in the 90th minute Curtis Thompson received the ball 25 yards out, showed some smart footwork before hitting a clean right footed shot that flew past the keeper and nestled perfectly in the bottom left corner. A further lift to the team moral and confidence provided the energy to produce a winning goal in the 94th minute.
After the match Paris Cowan-Hall praised Curtis’ performance not only from the match against Doncaster but his consistent ‘top draw’ performance that has been paramount to the team this season. Thompson has now signed a contract extension keeping him at the club for a further 2 ½ years.
