Esberg Excited to Sign Jamaican International Rodolph Austin

21 July 2017

Jamaican International footballer Rodolph Austin has completed a two year deal with Danish club Esberg FC.

The 32-year-old midfielder joined Brondby in 2015 and made 106 appearances and scored 17 goals. Prior to his time at Brondy, he has played at Leeds United where he also captained the team, SK Brann and Portmore United which has all added to his plethora of experience. He has captained the Reggae Boyz and represented them since 2004 on 84 occasions and added 7 goals to his tally.

Ruddy’s experience and leadership will be key during his time with Esberg over the next two years.

Sports Director Ted Van Leeuwen has been a fan of Austin for a long time and want to use his experience and leadership qualities to help grow and nurture the younger players “He will be able to raise the level of our team on several parameters. Not least sporting, because he not only comes with good physics, he is good at the ball and can give our game structure and balance.”.

Options were available to play in the Danish Superliga however Ruddy’s decision to sign with Esberg was a decision which was made based on the contribution he feels he can make to the club combined with the best option for his family which is paramount to him.

Ruddy is always a firm favourite with team mates and the fans and we expect Esperg FC to be no different, both he and his family are looking forward to his future at his new club.
