Young Aston Villa centre forward Jerell Sellars, currently on loan to Wycombe Wanderers is beginning to make a name for himself as a bright goal scoring threat in a league 2 side who have been struggling to find the back of the net regularly this season. Having been praised by manager Gareth Ainsworth, Sellars shows few signs of slowing down being described as an “attacking inspiration” whose “creativity offered a rare threat” for The Blues.
After showing great promise in his U21 career with 7 goals & 2 assists in 17 appearances this season, Sellars will hope to continue this form in the early stages of his senior career.
A hard working and clinical finisher with a good eye for goal. A rare talent like Jerell Sellars is definitely a player to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.
He has agreed to extend his contract at AVFC for another 12 months, and it will be interesting to see if he can force his way into the 1st team squad in Aston Villas push for an immediate return to the Premier League next season, or will he continue to gain first team experience elsewhere?
He made a couple of appearances for Villa in preseason and scored on his debut but spent the majority of the season playing for the U21’s before his brief loan spell.
For now, Jerell will remain focused on the final game of Wycombe Wanderers season as they take on Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.
