Preston North End put an end to Burnley’s run of 9 unbeaten games. Sean Dyche was disappointed with the outcome but not the performance of his team, although statistically speaking Preston had more chances at goal than Burnley did and it paid off for them.
The first half saw the majority of opportunities fall for the Clarets and Preston were unable to get a shot on target but by the half time whistle the game still remained goalless.
The second half saw Preston with their first shot on target just 5 minutes in, then at 63 minutes Manchester United young talent Will Keene scored the first goal of the game and his first for PNE.
Several Burnley players had attempts at goal but it was Daniel Johnson who finished the game off for Preston when he scored the winning goal in the 86th minute. Johnson who plays in midfield for PNE has now scored 7 goals this season adding to his 11 from last season.
Preston collected all 3 points but still sit unchanged in 18th position in the currently tight Championship table.
