Brondby IF, who are unbeaten in their last 6 games, were hosts to the dramatic derby against FC Copenhagen last night. The game was much as anticipated and both sides came out playing a tactically offensive game.
The first half was dominated by FC Copenhagen who were unlucky not to be ahead at half time with an excellent chance for FCK’s striker Santander. Unfortunately at the start of the second half Santander’s temper got the better of him and his two yellow cards left Copenhagen with 10 men.
FCK had to make tactical changes and looked to be playing for the draw, whilst Brondby stepped the game up a gear and were undoubtedly the better team throughout the second half.
The game finished a goalless draw which was down to FCK playing a very disciplined defensive game after being reduced to ten men.
Both teams had some strong, solid performances, notably from Rodolph Austin and Daniel Agger of Brondby and of FC Copenhagen standing out was Thomas Delany, Daniel Amartey and Mathias Jorgensen.
The result leaves FC Copenhagen still at the top of the league and Brondby IF only 6 points behind in 4th.
