TUDGAY’S OPENING GOAL HELPS SEAL A WIN

16 March 2015

Coventry secured 3 points away from home and the first win for Tony Mowbray since he took charge.
The game started well for the Sky Blues with Marcus Tudgay scoring a header from the right side of the box into the bottom corner after only 9 minutes. Chesterfield equalised with a goal from Jay O’Shea’s deflected shot just before half time.
The second half bought 3 more goals and finished Chesterfield 2 – 3 Coventry.
Tony Mowbray stated that he was very pleased with the three points but there is still much work to be done. Encouraging his team he stated in an interview “Marcus has done fantastically well to get that ball first and head home. Frank has also done great for his goal and kept a cool head… There will be many more tough matches so we have to remain focused.”
