Deon Burton has signed a 12 month contract with Scunthorpe United. Brian Laws wanted to sign Burton as soon as the transfer window opened, but didn’t think he would be able to get the frontman as he had just helped Gilligham gain promotion to League 1, scoring 13 goals in 31 starts and 9 subs appearances. He was expeceted to sign a new deal with the Shrimpers.
Burton is very keen to get started and stated. “i would love to get promoted again this season and i believe i can help the younger players around me and also chip in with my fair share of goals”.
