WEMBLEY BOUND DANIEL JOHNSON MAKES GIANT STRIDES

11 May 2015

Daniel had an excellent youth career with Aston Villa from 2009 until Jan 2015. Whilst he was at Villa Daniel unfortunately never got the opportunity to prove himself in the 1st team, however he gained first team experience with loan periods at Yeovil, Chesterfield and Oldham.

Daniel was snapped up for a nominal fee, and put pen to paper signing with Preston  in Jan 2015 for  2 1/2 years. It has recently come to light that Tim Sherwood had issues with the sale of the promising youngster to Preston.

Since joining Preston at the end of January he has scored a superb 8 goals as well as contributing to as many. Daniel’s goals and overall performance has been a contributing factor to their League one position over the last 5 months.

Daniel is clearly showing that as an attacking midfielder he is not only capable of creating goal scoring opportunities but he is also finding the back of the net himself on a regular basis.

Daniel has settled in well at Preston and playing excellent football which is proved by his stats. On the pitch he and former Villa team mate Callum Robinson have worked together well producing great goals and attacking play.

Undoubtedly DJ has the qualities to play at a much higher level and is ready for the challenges that lie ahead. As a young and talented midfielder we expect great things for him.

Preston North End have defeated Chesterfield 4 – 0 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals and they will face either Sheffield United or Swindon on the 24 May 2015 at Wembley.
