Rams loan Keeper Grant to Stoke

2 September 2016

Derby County keeper, Lee Grant, has completed a move to Premier League club Stoke City where he will stay on loan until January 2017.

Lee has been an integral part of the Championship side since his return to Derby from Burnley in 2013, having made over 100 appearances for the Rams in his second spell there.

Lee is really excited for the opportunity to play with some top class players and is looking forward to the challenge ahead, having said  “It all happened very quickly and when I got the call it was a no-brainer”.

Lee has gone to Stoke as an understudy and to challenge their current keepers, and ironically Jack Buckland Stokes current number one, came to Derby in 2014-2015 in similar circumstances.

He will be working with some familiar faces including the first team coach Eddie Niedzwiecki and goalkeeper coach Andy Quy.

This is Lee’s first experience in the premiership and one he is relishing, he can’t wait to get started after the current international break.
