Amartey Scores And Seals Foxes Point

19 December 2016

The foxes came back from 2-0 down to draw against Stoke after goalkeeper Schmeichel gave a motivational speech at half time according to midfielder Daniel Amartey.

Leicester were reduced to ten men after Jamie Vardy was sent off in the 28th minute for a dangerous two footed tackle. Despite Stoke taking a two goal lead in the first half Leicester were putting them under pressure and keeper Lee Grant made six strong saves to keep Stoke ahead at half time, with goals from Bojan and Allen.

The second half saw Stokes attacking force unable to find the back of the net. Whilst Leicester’s double substitution made an immediate impact and they netted their first goal from substitute Ulloa in the 74th minute after only 2 minutes on the pitch.

The ten men team continued to pile on the pressure and the Ghanian international midfielder, Daniel Amartey, found the back of the net with a superb header from a Christian Fuchs cross. This was Daniel’s first goal for Leicester since joining in January this year and it sealed a point for the foxes.

Daniel spoke of the half time talk amongst the team and how they were determined to fight together to take something from the game.
