KENNETH ZOHORE: “FIORENTINA MOVE MAKES ME HAPPY”

31 January 2012

Today Kenneth Zohore turns 18 and he can celebrate in the knowledge that he has just signed a contract moving him from Danish champions FCK Copenhagen to Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina.

The contract is for the next 3.5 years. The hugely talented Danish forward has already made his debut for FCK in both the Danish Super league and Champions League.

In the Danish Super league Kenneth Zohore is on record as the youngest player ever at only 16 years and 35 days and in the Champions League history books he is the second youngest player after Celestine Babayaro, making his debut against Barcelona in 2010.

Kenneth Zohore:

I’ve had a few very busy days since leaving for Italy on Friday. My representatives and I met a lot of people in Florence and watched the match on Sunday where Fiorentina hosted Siena. That was a great experience and I am so happy to be joining this big club.

FCK means a lot to me and has been pivotal in my development but now is a great time for me to get new challenges in Fiorentina.  The club have told me that they have followed me for years and that they have a plan for me. They have really impressed me.

I am not joining Fiorentina as a star striker, and I am well aware of the fact that with my young age. I still have to learn a lot and develop my game.

There is another Danish player in Fiorentina in Per Krøldrup and I have already spoken to him about the club the country and the city. It will be great for me having another Dane at the club, and now I ‘m just looking forward to the future in Fiorentina.
