Daniel Johnson’s Brace against Blackburn

12 December 2016

Blackburn Rovers travelled to Deepdale hoping to maintain the momentum they had built from their last three games and start to distance themselves from the bottom of the table. However, despite the hosts having two of their key players unavailable due to suspension, the Lillywhites took all three points in an exciting 3-2 win over Blackburn.

Daniel Johnson opened the scoreline in the 18th minute with a superb left footed curling shot from 25 yards out.

Danny Graham made it 1 – 1 scoring from a penalty rebound but Johnson went on to score his second goal of the game; a perfectly positioned penalty found the back of the net and sent keeper, Jason Steele,  in the opposite direction in the 31st minute.

The second half saw Blackburn draw level again with another goal from Graham, but Callum Robinson sealed the three points with a clinical shot to the bottom corner ten minutes before time.

Preston midfielder, Daniel Johnson, was awarded man of the match for his outstanding strong performance and contribution to the game.
